Led by Sean & Debi Beachy

Under the Burlington Tent

In a long-standing Chautauqua tradition, Sean and Debi Beachy will lead a hymn sing much like the original founders of Mountain Lake Park would have expected.

Popular secular and sacred music was an important part of the American culture at the turn of the 20th century. A recital of period pieces and descriptions of the music in a historical context will describe what influenced this American music genre.

Granstville resident and vocalist, Debi Beachy will be accompanied by her husband Sean on keyboard to lead a traditional hymn sing. The couple will be providing sheet music for anyone who would like to sing along. The 2019 presentation proved quite popular and a reminder of the founding principals of Mountain Lake Park nearly 140 years ago.
